Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta
March 2018

Our first time in Puerto Vallarta, was definitely a beautiful experience. We had a beautiful room at the Sherraton Bunguavillas only 1 mile away from the Malecon, a private beach, with a breathtaking view.

We loved it so much we even talked about purchasing a small vacation home there in the later future.

“Puerto Vallarta is a resort town on Mexico’s Pacific coast, in Jalisco state. It is known for its beaches, water sports and nightlife scene. Its cobblestone center is home to the ornate Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe church, boutique shops and a range of restaurants and bars. El Malecón is a beachside promenade with contemporary sculptures, as well as bars, lounges and nightclubs.” (http://visitpuertovallarta.com/)

Our room

We are in our early 30s with kids, all we wanted was a quick getaway and some time to our selves, we were not looking for nightlight or extravagant outings, just a chillaxing time, and we did just that. We visited restaurants on the beach, restaurants in town, shops, we did some parasailing for the first time ever!!! It was such an awesome time. Well deserved mommy and daddy time.

El Dorado Restaurant

If you ever want a quick or long getaway Puerto Vallarta is the place to go, our hotel had the “all inclusive” opportunity, we opted out, we wanted to experience PV outside of the hotel, we wanted to spend our money through out the town rather than solely in the hotel.

Our hotel did include a buffet style breakfast on the beach which was incredible, the food options were scrumptious, fresh hot coffee with the view on a beautiful ocean breeze was to die for.

The Malecon, is a long strip of restaurants, shops, clubs, and more. There is alot of culture, and the people there are so welcoming.

The vibe in Puerto Vallarta is very relaxing. But you can add your own spunk to it with nightlife and outdoor activities, loooots of outdoor activities. We were only there for 2 nights and 3 days, if we had more time we would have added some outdoor activities to our agenda. But for this time, we were extra happy living a very relaxing time in Mexico.

Places we visited: Malecon, The Church of our Lady Of Guadalupe El Dorado Restaurant (on beach), Langosta Feliz (in town, took a taxi), Cuetos Seafood (in town took a taxi), La Palapa Restuarant (on beach)

Trip advisor was a great help to find restaurants, but we also asked the locals where the best hidden places were. Cuetos and Langosta Feliz were the hidden gems.

One huge tip!

Take money already exchanged in to pesos, its hard to find places in town that will exchange money.

I hope these pictures give you a good “taste” of what Puerto Vallarta has to offer, we cant wait to go back, but first we must take our “first ever” trip to Cancun.
